The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra is putting on a FREE party - actually several parties - for young adults in their 20s and 30s complete with complementary wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres.

Urban Overture is the name of a group for young adults interested in exploring a new concert experience and enjoying informal networking with their peers.

Each Wednesday prior to a Masterworks symphony concert, the Urban Overture group will meet at Studio 222 (222 Broadway in downtown Fargo, next door to Atomic Coffee) at 5:30 p.m. for an informal gathering to learn more about the weekend's concert offering.

FMSO Concertmaster Benjamin Sung will present an informal "Symphony 101" talk about the music, what to expect at a symphony concert, when to applaud (and how the tradition of not aplauding between movements came about) and more. Music Director Bernard ("Bernie") Rubenstein and several professional musicians from the orchestra will attend as well, meeting new concertgoers and answering questions in an informal, cocktail party-style atmosphere.
